Wearable decision guide

Is a smartwatch worth it?

A smartwatch creates value through repeated small interactions. If those interactions do not change your behavior, a premium wearable can become an expensive notification screen.

Quick verdict

Worth considering when you will use fitness tracking, navigation, payments, communication or training features most days. Skip or buy simpler when you mainly want the time and occasional step counts.

Measure habit fit

Ask which three features you expect to use every week. If you cannot name them, delay the purchase. Also consider charging tolerance: a device that is frequently left uncharged delivers little value regardless of its feature list.

Premium vs basic

Premium models make more sense when specialized training, durability, outdoor navigation or deeper ecosystem features are genuinely useful. Otherwise a cheaper watch or fitness band may solve the same core job.
